Staff Product Manager
Job description
About Wing:Â
Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.
About the Role:
Wing is seeking a Staff Product Manager to join our Commerce Product team. This role is hybrid based in Palo Alto, CA. In this high impact role, you will be responsible for the strategic architecture of Wing’s commercial ecosystem. You won't just execute a roadmap; you will define the vision for how Wing’s technology integrates with the global economy.
As a Staff PM, you will tackle our most ambiguous challenges, balancing the intricate logistics of autonomous flight with the friction-less expectations of modern e-commerce. You are a force multiplier, working across Engineering, Business Development, and Regulatory teams to build a scalable, multi-tenant platform that powers our next phase of international expansion. You are responsible for the North Star of our commerce pillars, ensuring our systems are not just revenue-driven, but industry-defining.
What You’ll Do:Â
- Define and own the multi-year vision for core commerce pillars (e.g., Global Checkout, Merchant Ecosystems, or Enterprise API Platforms), aligning these with Wing’s overarching business objectives.
- Drive the evolution of our platform architecture, ensuring that product solutions for today’s partners are modular enough to support tomorrow’s undisclosed markets.
- Act as a primary advisor to executive leadership on commercial product health and trade-offs. You will bridge the gap between technical constraints and aggressive business development targets.
- Translate highly complex, real-world operational hurdles—ranging from airspace regulations to physical merchant constraints—into elegant, automated digital products.
- Mentor mid to senior PMs and establish best practices for product discovery, data-driven experimentation, and go-to-market strategies across the Commerce organization.
- Own the long-term KPIs for your domain, utilizing deep analytical insights to pivot strategy and unlock new revenue streams or operational efficiencies.
What You’ll Need:
- 12+ years of Product Management leadership: Proven experience navigating the 0-to-1 and scaling phases within high-growth marketplaces, fintech, or complex logistics tech.
- Systemic Thinking: A track record of managing deeply technical, API-first products where you’ve balanced the needs of a diverse developer ecosystem with a premium end-user experience.
- Strategic Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal oversight in highly ambiguous environments, making high-stakes decisions that impact the company’s bottom line.
- Operational Sophistication: Experience in bits-to-atoms industries—where software interacts with physical hardware, logistics, or supply chains—is strongly preferred.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build consensus among disparate groups, including Legal, Policy, Global Ops, and external Enterprise partners.
- Technical Foundation: A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
