ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril’s Rocket Motor Systems team is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will own the electrical design and compliance that keeps facility and equipment power safe, documented, and ready to scale.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own electrical design and design review for production equipment and facility power at Anduril’s Solid Rocket Motor plant in McHenry, MS
- Set and enforce internal electrical standards, drawing conventions, and code compliance across the facility
- Review and red-line contractor and integrator electrical packages, including panel layouts, single-line diagrams, and load calculations
- Coordinate with facilities, construction, and outside engineering firms on power distribution, branch circuits, grounding, and equipment hookup
- Specify electrical equipment including transformers, disconnects, breakers, VFD feeds, and control power for new and modified production lines
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and hazardous location requirements for energetic material handling areas
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor engineers and technicians on electrical design practice and safe work standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial or production environment
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices
- Experience owning the electrical scope of capital projects from design through energization and turnover
- Experience with industrial power distribution including transformers, panelboards, circuit protection, and grounding
- Proficient with electrical component selection, wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets
- Experience producing and reviewing electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar
- Electrical troubleshooting up to 600VAC
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial or production environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Experience with hazardous location (Class I/II Division 1/2) design for energetic or solvent handling areas
- Experience with arc flash studies and coordination analysis using SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
- Familiar with Siemens PLC and control system integration
- Experience interfacing with utilities, AHJs, and outside engineering firms
- Experience setting electrical standards for a new or ramping production facility
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
