andurilindustriesWashington, District of Columbia, United States

Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril Maritime delivers platforms, systems, and integrated effects in the maritime domain. Our autonomous vehicles (sub-surface and surface) are the cornerstone of these capabilities, and we continually strive to push the boundaries of the possible in terms of endurance, autonomy and mission capability. The Maritime team develops and maintains core products and payloads, and adapts and applies those products to serve a wide variety of defense, IC and commercial customers in US and international markets.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Senior Director, Maritime (International Programs) to own and lead an international growth strategy for a portfolio of Anduril Maritime’s products (subsurface and surface). You will engage foreign navies and ministries of defense at the senior-leader level to translate operational requirements into shaped opportunities, own the capture across the international portfolio from qualification through ink, and build the partner relationships and teaming strategies that turn first wins into long-term international programs and programs of record. This role turns capability into enduring international programs: you must be credible going deep on the product with a partner navy's engineers, fluent in deal structure and price-to-win across the table from their acquisition leads, and conversant in the export and licensing machinery that makes a program legal and deliverable.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own your portfolio’s international growth strategy. You will own a Maritime international growth strategy and annual growth plan for your portfolio across partner-nation accounts, including ACV targets, pipeline conversion, and forecast. You will lead international long-range planning and Growth Quarterly Business Review inputs for your portfolio, prioritize markets and strategic captures within it based on market, partner-nation budget, and operational analysis, and run regular pipeline and forecasting reviews aligned with Revenue Operations. You will contribute to the Division's overall international strategy alongside peer international growth leads.
  • Engage at the technical and operational level. You will be the expert level technical and operational voice with a partner navy's requirements officers and engineers, able to go deep on vehicle endurance, autonomy, payload integration, and concept of employment, then translate that capability into an operational effect the customer will pay for. You will own the commercial side in parallel: structuring deals, shaping price-to-win, and selecting the right pathway (FMS vs. DCS, teaming, offset, financing), while running the international machinery that makes a sale legal and deliverable (ITAR/EAR licensing, releasability, end-use management) in close partnership with trade compliance. You will represent Anduril with senior partner-nation leadership (flag officers, senior MOD officials, national armaments directors) and with U.S. stakeholders including DSCA, NIPO, and embassy Security Cooperation Offices.
  • Generate and capture business opportunities. The BD team is ultimately responsible for growing revenue. You will own the identification, pursuit, and shaping of opportunities and end-to-end capture of international opportunities in your portfolio across for our business lines. You will grow a deep understanding of the existing and prospective client base, know the current and planned programmatic and technical roadmap, and be cognizant of the current and changing competitive landscape. You will plan, initiate, and manage continuous engagements with current clients and prospective customers and monitor buying cycles and partner-nation budget cycles for opportunities. You will direct, prioritize, and delegate cross-BL contributors on international pursuits, and own proposal strategy, pricing rationale, and narrative, including oversight of RFI, RFP, RFWP, and other customer responses and drive closure on new business.
  • Lead international program creation. Build the business plans and execution models that outline the acquisition path, align to the customer's investment strategy, and drive toward program-of-record execution. You will shape requirements with key stakeholders, identify and secure relevant funding, and develop the win themes and supplier strategies that win competitive captures. You will lead program creation activities in collaboration with company leadership, the Strategic Growth team, and Government Relations and Global Defense, and drive strategic starts with BL and Division leadership.
  • Lead partnership and teaming strategy. You will develop the partnership and teaming strategy for your portfolio’s international markets, including foreign primes, in-country industrial partners, and offset and industrial participation arrangements, and lead cross-BL and cross-Division collaboration on integrated solutions, investment, and new product development. Where partners, primes, or customers span portfolios, you will coordinate with peer international growth leads so Anduril presents one integrated approach.
  • Grow existing business. You will partner with adjacent business lines and product engineers to identify opportunities for business growth with current clients. This doesn’t just include expanding on current work, but interfacing with existing partners to explore new opportunity areas by sustaining and building on the strong foundation of client relationships.
  • Lead international go-to-market. You will own the international go-to-market approach for your portfolio, including product marketing, narrative, presence at major international defense exhibitions, and customer engagement strategy, and contribute to the Division's broader international narrative.
  • Shape investment and the product roadmap. You will be a liaison between a current or prospective client and the engineering organization, and as such must be able to translate their problem set into an actionable internal plan and product roadmap. You will integrate international demand, including exportability and releasability requirements, into BL investment strategies and product roadmaps in collaboration with GMs and functional leads. You will need to interpret and convey various client needs to the growth and engineering teams, help to inform and manage priorities and execution, regularly communicate pipeline, program, and forecast information to GM, SVP, and C-suite stakeholders, and make sure that performance stays aligned to key milestones and to the transition from first sale to program of record.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10–15 years of relevant industry, military operations, or government experience, including demonstrated excellence leading large cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record turning technical capability into closed business: a demonstrated history of winning complex, technical product competitions where you personally carried both the technical conversation (system performance, integration, CONOPS) and the commercial one (deal structure, pricing, terms), with personal ownership of closed international awards at program-of-record scale. Generalist relationship sellers without technical depth, and technical staff without deal ownership, will not meet this bar.
  • Prior industry P&L or portfolio-level growth ownership (ACV targets, pipeline, and forecast).
  • Working command of international defense deal flow: direct experience executing FMS and DCS transactions, navigating ITAR/EAR export licensing (e.g., DSP-5, TAA, MLA) and releasability determinations, and managing the partner-nation relationships and MOD procurement cycles through which deals actually close.
  • A proven development and growth leader with prior experience in commercial or DoD Capture and Sales, demonstrating a track record of building, executing, and winning business capture strategies, particularly with an emphasis on the foreign navies as a customer. Must have proven history closing deals with international partners, not just creating and shaping a pipeline.
  • Demonstrated program creation experience: taking an international opportunity from first engagement to a funded program or program of record.
  • Operational naval or maritime-domain experience (officer or senior enlisted) sufficient to establish technical and operational credibility with uniformed customers.
  • Demonstrated high-energy, high-ownership leader who will drive performance and exhibit strong management skills with a high level of emotional intelligence. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment, and be able to build, adapt, and implement new and innovative approaches to market.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with experience representing a company to flag officers, senior MOD and U.S. government officials (O-6 / SES / PEO and partner-nation equivalents), and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Expert level knowledge of relevant DoD / IC / Commercial programs, platforms and payloads, to include enabling technologies, systems integration and software development.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%.
  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline, international relations, or business administration.
  • Expertise in foreign military sales of submarine, surface, undersea systems, or maritime ISR products.
  • Experience building or leading an international BD function
  • Experience with government business development, government contract structures, and government proposal processes.
  • Prior military or contracting experience, or experience in DoD or Government.
  • Prior experience at NIPO, DSCA, or SECNAV International Programs.
  • Foreign Area Officer (FAO) background, especially Indo-Pacific or European maritime.
  • Existing relationships with one or more priority partner navies.
  • Experience in internal operations management, and familiarity with the product lifecycle process from birth to sustainment.
