Job Description
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
Lyft's Healthcare & Community Access team is changing the way state Medicaid agencies, transportation brokers, and transit authorities think about non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and paratransit. We work with the largest NEMT brokers, state and federal healthcare agencies, and transit authorities in the country to improve access to care and essential services for the riders who need it most. Our work is fast-paced, cross-functional, and high-impact — and we are looking for a Manager to lead a team of Account Managers, own strategic workstreams on behalf of the team, and serve as a trusted advisor to the team members who own our most important partnerships.
As a Manager on Lyft's Healthcare & Community Access team, you will lead, develop, and grow a team of Account Managers who own day-to-day relationships with our healthcare and transit partners. You will own strategic workstreams on behalf of the team and act as an advisor and coach to your Account Managers as they navigate their books of business. You are an experienced people leader with deep account management instincts, a track record of developing high-performing teams, and the executive presence to represent your team and vertical to senior leadership both inside and outside Lyft.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Account Managers — setting clear expectations, providing coaching and performance feedback, and supporting career growth across a range of experience levels
- Serve as a trusted advisor to your Account Managers as they navigate their books of business, helping them prepare for high-stakes negotiations, executive business reviews, and difficult partner conversations
- Develop trusted senior-level relationships with your team's partner organizations — including NEMT brokers, transit authorities, and healthcare channel partners — supporting your AMs in escalations, executive engagements, and contract negotiations as needed
- Drive quarter-over-quarter growth against the team's quota, holding your Account Managers accountable to their individual goals while owning the team-level performance narrative
- Represent the team and vertical as the senior point of contact in cross-functional workstreams with Product, Engineering, Product Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Public Policy — including influencing the product roadmap based on partner and team feedback
- Identify new growth opportunities for the vertical, including new use cases, emerging segments, and pilot initiatives, and partner with your team to run sales campaigns end-to-end
- Author or co-author business cases, executive summaries, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership, accurately assessing opportunities, resource needs, and tradeoffs
- Partner with the analytics team to interpret team and vertical performance data, translate findings into actions, and ensure your Account Managers are using data to drive their accounts
- Serve as a trusted backup to your manager — represent the team in meetings, lead in their absence, and present strategy and recommendations to VP-level and above audiences
- Foster an inclusive team environment where team members can be authentic, leveraging their strengths while providing constructive coaching and balancing morale with productivity
- Represent Lyft externally at healthcare, NEMT, and transit industry events, panels, and conferences
Experience:
- 8+ years of successful sales, business development, or account management experience, with a proven track record of growing complex enterprise accounts and consistently hitting quota
- 3+ years of direct people management experience, with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and retain high-performing account management or sales talent
- Experience overseeing complex contract negotiations and pricing strategy, including familiarity with rebate structures, incentive program design, and cost/benefit analysis
- Strong financial acumen — comfortable with unit economics, P&L concepts, and building or interpreting financial models to support partner negotiations
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills — able to tailor communication style, tone, and message to different stakeholders, from operations contacts to C-suite executives
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations; familiarity with data visualization tools a plus
- Comfortable with ambiguity, change, and operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment; able to set priorities proactively and seek out high-impact work without explicit direction
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners — including Product, Legal, Finance, and Marketing — and to build consensus across internal and external stakeholders
- Non-emergency medical transportation, paratransit, healthcare partnerships, or transit/transportation industry experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
Benefits:
- Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolled
- Mental health benefits
- Family building benefits
- Child care and pet benefits
- 401(k) plan with company match to help save for your future
- In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
- Subsidized commuter benefits
- Monthly Lyft credits and complimentary Lyft Pink membership
